Sādhus of Varanasi
In Hinduism, a sādhu is a holy man who has chosen to live apart from society, following an ascetic lifestyle.
Varanasi, city of life and death, is one of the seven Hindu holy cities and is believed to have been founded by the god Shiva.
Therefore, many Sadhus spend their life in Varanasi or come as pilgrims, pursuing spiritual liberation.
